20/20 MEMBER REFERRAL PROGRAM
WHAT IS THE 20/20 MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM?
It is a new membership program that allows our existing members to refer friends and family to join the YMCA. When a member helps us to create a healthier community by referring a member, both the member and the friends and family they bring to the Y will receive a 20% savings off the standard rate of membership.
WHY ARE WE STARTING THE 20/20 MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM?
The Y is a cause driven organization dedicated to strengthening the community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Surely, we cannot achieve such an important mission alone, so we engage and challenge our members to be part of our cause. Individuals who choose to live a healthier lifestyle are more successful when behavior change is done with others, friends, family or teammates. The launch of our 20/20 Membership Program aims to bring all Y members to the forefront as advocates for healthier living.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
To join the 20/20 Membership Program, the new joining member needs to identify the current Y member when signing up for membership and complete a member referral form. We make joining super easy so you don’t even have to be with the new member you are referring when they come in to join.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROGRAM?
Young Adult, Adult, and Household members are eligible to participate in the program. In order to participate you must be set up on bank/credit card draft or pay annually.
CAN I REFER MORE THAN ONE FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER?
Yes, you can refer up to five friends who will each be eligible for the 20% savings toward their membership. Although you will not receive additional discounts, as long as one of your referrals remains active you will continue to enjoy the 20% savings on your membership.
HOW LONG IS THIS REDUCED RATE VALID?
The reduced rate received from participating in the 20/20 Membership Program is good as long as both parties remain members. Should one of you cancel your membership, the remaining member has thirty (30) days to refer another friend or family member to join. After 30 days, the reduced membership rate will return to the standard rate for the specified membership type.
I REFERRED MY FRIEND AND MY FRIEND JOINED. WHEN DO THEY RECEIVE THEIR REDUCED RATE?
The 20/20 Membership Program rate will go into effect when the referred membership is purchased. The 20/20 Membership Program rate for your membership will be reflected in the billing cycle following the join date of the friend or family you refer.
CAN A MEMBER LEAVE AND COME BACK AS ANOTHER MEMBER’S FRIEND AND FAMILY MEMBER DURING THE 20/20 CAMPAIGN?
You can be referred by a current member if you have not been active the past 90 days.
I AM CURRENTLY RECEIVING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. CAN I REFER A FRIEND FOR THIS PROGRAM?
Yes. We encourage all our members to take this opportunity and help us to make our community a healthier place to live. Should your friend or family member decide to join they will receive the 20/20 Membership Program rate for the membership category they select. Your membership will remain at your standard financial assistance rate or be reduced to the 20/20 Membership Program rate for your current membership type, whichever savings is greater. As always, if finances are a barrier, anyone can apply for financial assistance for membership.
CAN I UPGRADE OR DOWNGRADE MY MEMBERSHIP IF I AM PART OF THE 20/20 MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your membership if both members retain an eligible membership type.
I AM JOINING THE Y AS A NEW MEMBER IN THE 20/20 MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM. DO I HAVE TO PAY A JOINING FEE?
Yes, new members joining through the 20/20 Membership Program are subject to the standard joining fee.
