About the Program
The program is designed to offer developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children ages 3 to 5. Children will follow a theme-based curriculum intertwining our Scholastic My Big World curriculum and the Chambersburg Area School District’s Kindergarten Readiness Program. Children will experience the excitement of exploration and the joy of discovery of their world as they move from one interest center to another.
Activities will focus on a variety of skills, including:
- Early writing
- Early math concepts
- Art projects
- Science experiments
- Music
- Gym
- Field trips
- YMCA preschool swimming lessons
- and much more!
Along with developing skills, a positive self-concept is promoted as children learn to share, participate in group games and projects, take care of belongings, and put things away after use. Preschool teaches valuable life skills which will stay with your child long after their preschool days end. All activities are implemented by a certified teacher and trained YMCA staff.

Ages: 3-5 years (Child must be 3 years old by September 1, 2024, and bathroom independent)
